DURAL PLASTIC DOWELS FOR USE WITH DURAL MULTIFLOOR THRESHOLD STRIPS, edging and junction profiles to form a profile system with a smooth surface where no securing screws are visible. They can also be used for Dural Multifloor or similar floor strips as edging or transition strips for Carpets, laminate and parquet floors or as junctions to other types of flooring. These plastic dowels help hide any other junctions or expansion joints when used with suitable and similar thresholds. The profiles themselves lay very flat and harmoniously match heights with any flooring, e.g. at junctions between two flooring materials in a doorway. They help provide a smooth surface of the floor without annoying visible screws providing the perfect edging for any floor. Dural LS42 Dowels have barbs which hold the posts in place once you press them into the holes on the floor or doorway. Tools needed to fix Dural Multifloor door strip ;- 1. Hack-saw – to cut the Dural Multifloor to the correct length. 2. Drill with the correct drill bit – to drill the holes needed for the plastic one-way holding Dural LS42 Plugs. 3. Obviously, a tape measure to measure the length to cut! Just watch out if you have under-floor radiator heating pipes or wire! Mark 5 to 6 positions on the floor and drill suitable holes at those positions. Slide 5 or 6 Dural LS42 Plastic Plugs in the channel underneath the Dural Multifloor Door strips and position them as per the holes drilled. Position the plugs on the holes and gradually tap the doorbar in place with a wood block on top to avoid damage to the surface of the door bar or floor.
✅ Flexible plastic dowels to allow heights of upto 10mm to 12mm to be compensated
✅ The plastic plugs are flexible enough to compensate for height differences in optimum fashion.
✅ Automatically adapt to the height of the flooring without any need for fine adjustment; Clipped onto plastic plugs inserted into pre-drilled holes at random intervals.
✅ Square Head measures approx 7mm x 7mm to slide inside the groove on the reverse of thresholds. Total length of the dowel is approx 45mm. The thickest point of the dowel is in the middle measures 6.5mm – 7mm which grips inside the 6mm drilled hole. Once pushed in, these are secured in the floor. To remove, they need to be to be drilled out.
